Ngiling Tikai

Last Sunday, I spent some time with the Warga Emas Ngiling Tikai ceremony - to mark the end of the harvest season. I've never been to the centre(how ignorance I am) before and spending my time there for few hours really made my day. It is a place where all the Warga Emas (old folks) spend most of their time -meeting friends, karaoke, exercise and do the poco-poco dance. Datuk Lee Kim Shim spent his time to the ceremony too.
After the ceremony, the old folks started to sing and this one particular chinese man really caught my attention. He is in his 70s,and he sang very well.First, he sang an Iban song then the real classic chinese song. They were very happy and suddenly it makes me think..is this what will happen to me when I'm old?I did not see their children around but they were enjoying themselves very much.Hahaha..maybe I'll be the chic grandma..like one of the ladies there. She still wears skirts and high heels. She did her own make-up too (I was kinda bz body-interviewing people here and there)and did her lovely bun. She is a retired teacher..no wonder...
Since my parents are involved largely with this centre, I kept wondering why I did not have the time to at least visit the centre and help them around..I always complaining of being to bz in sch (but it's true)..but maybe once a while I should spend some time doing volunteer work like I used to do during college time..hmm..something to think about..
